Visualize and understand where and how patterns are used in your code.

PostSharp applies patterns during compilation without affecting your source code in order to keep it clean. But as a developer, you often want to be aware of these patterns. PostSharp Tools pushes this information directly into Visual Studio.

PostSharp Explorer shows which patterns are used and how they affect the codebase.

Pattern-aware syntax highlighting shows which code is enhanced by patterns.

Pattern-aware tooltips shows which patterns are applied to the current code.

Adding patterns made easy

We’ve made it very easy to add patterns to an application for the first time. After you’ve learned how to do it, you can add patterns manually in code.

Light bulb – Just place the caret on the class or the method you want to enhance and PostSharp will offer all relevant patterns.

Coding guidance – Walk through the process using a wizard that is similar to those found in Visual Studio. When patterns require multiple changes or additions to the codebase, feedback, reminders and guidance are provided.
